This class assumes no previous knowledge of technology.   This class presents a complete view of the design and operation of the modern recording studio.  It begins with an explanation of MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) which is the recording and playing back of musical performances.  The course  applies a system design approach to the use of computers as sequencers and "their connection to other devices such as the MIDI controller, synthesizer, sound module, midi patch bay, and SMPTE synchronizers".  In addition the class covers multitrack recording, the mixer and effects processors.  By the end of the course the student is capable of designing and operating a project studio.
